Diamond-ready jerseys, customized for the MLB's future All-Stars.
The Lowdown
The MLB All-Star Game took over downtown Philadelphia, and welcomed Nike Grassroots for two Youth baseball games. Our live crew custom-made 300 Nike jerseys for youth players at the Commissioner’s Cup and Jennie Finch Classic. Each jersey got heat-pressed names and numbers plus a choice of custom event-themed patches.
300 jerseys came off the line in 12 hours, about 25 per hour across the 6-person crew. That’s roughly one finished jersey every 14 to 15 minutes per staffer, since each piece needed both a name/number press and a separate patch application.
Players picked their own name and number, then chose from a set of patches made just for the weekend, each one built around All-Star Game artwork. Names and numbers were cut from vinyl and heat pressed for clean edges that could hold up through a full day of play. Kids walked away with jerseys they had a hand in designing.
Nike Grassroots wanted youth athletes at the Commissioner’s Cup and Jennie Finch Classic to leave with gear that felt personal instead of off-the-rack. Family Industries ran the full Live Jersey Customization Bar on-site and turned out 300 finished jerseys in a single day.
