The Lowdown

In July 2010, San Diego Comic Con was taken by storm as Family Industries partnered with NBC Universal to promote the much-anticipated movie release of “Scott Pilgrim vs The World.” Set against the backdrop of one of the largest pop culture conventions in the world, our live screen printing set-up provided an unforgettable experience for fans and celebrities alike.

Family Industries and NBC Universal worked together to create a turnkey experience that allowed Comic Con attendees to choose from 10 shirt colors and over 15 exclusive Scott Pilgrim-inspired designs. The result was a fully immersive and interactive event that drew crowds and generated buzz throughout the convention.

Adding to the excitement, stars of the movie, including Anna Kendrick, Michael Cera, Aubrey Plaza, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and others, made surprise appearances to live print and engage with fans. With the talented Dan the Automator DJing, the atmosphere was electric, capturing the spirit of the movie and the enthusiasm of the fans.

Lines for the live screen printing experience stretched for nearly two hours, but attendees were more than willing to wait for their chance to participate. As fans left the event with their customized shirts, they couldn’t help but share their excitement with others, making the Scott Pilgrim vs Comic Con live screen printing event the talk of Comic Con 2010.

Family Industries is incredibly proud to have been a part of this groundbreaking promotion. Our collaboration with NBC Universal showcased the power of live screen printing and custom merchandise in creating a memorable and engaging experience for fans. As we continue to push the boundaries of event marketing and customization, we look back on Scott Pilgrim vs Comic Con as a shining example of what can be achieved through innovative partnerships and a passion for connecting with fans.
